There are two REALLY GOOD resources on marriage & parenting that are available at the Wretched Radio Store. The first is called “Drive By Marriage” and the second is “Drive By Parenting”. You can get them by way of digital download, transcript, or on disk. There are also study guides. I highly recommend these products. They are very gospel-centered.

Family Driven Faith – Voddie Baucham

Family Shepherds – Voddie Baucham

Shepherding a Child’s Heart – Tedd Tripp

Grace-Based Parenting – Tim Kimmel

Instructing a Child’s Heart – Tedd & Margy Tripp

Give Them Grace – Elyse M. Fitzpatrick & Jessica Thompson   (I feel that some of the practical solutions presented in this book involving very young children may be too much for that stage of life)

For The Children’s Sake – Susan Schaeffer Macaulay

Age of Opportunity – Paul Tripp

You’ll want to avoid Michael Pearl and No Greater Joy Ministries. I’m thinking back to the news of the Word of Faith pastor Creflo Dollar who was raising money for a $65,000,000 private jet. Many people rightfully raised their voices at this. But why did they wait to speak out until he was seeking to purchase a Gulfstream G650 aircraft on donor money? Why not say anything when Creflo started teaching that we’re little gods? What about when he said he wanted those who didn’t tithe to be shot? Or when he said that Adam could fly and that planets are out there for us to finish God training 101? All of these and more are easily found on YouTube. The list for pastor Dollar could go on and on but the point I’d like to make is that these are all surface symptoms of a foundational (theological) problem. His view of God and his view of man is where the main problem can be found. Michael Pearl also has a foundational-theological problem. Other websites have posted “lists” of issues with his ministry and so there is no need to put it on my site. I just want to point out that the greatest issue is a theological one and from that comes everything else. His teaching on original sin, grace, the atonement of Jesus, and how we should parent all stem from his faulty view of God and man. All the controversial things we see in the news regarding the parenting method he advocates for are symptoms of the much greater problem.
